Daniel Constantineau has been composing since the age of 16. His first works were created at the Camp musical de Lanaudière and were his gateway to the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, which he attended from 1975 to 1985.
In 1981, he began composing stage music by creating the soundtrack for the song called « Décervelage de cerveau », commissioned by Théâtre UBU and Denis Marleau for the Dadaist show « Le cœur à gaz », given at the Quat’sous Bar. This was followed by a series of works, orchestrations and arrangements that stand out for their diversity and originality, as well as for the quality of their workmanship.
His film and documentary music can be viewed on YouTube, while his theatre, TV drama, theme songs and advertisements are integrated on SoundCloud, of which here are the most important sections:
Public Affairs | Culture and Society | News | Jamais deux sans toi | Graffiti | Les héritiers Duval | Children’s music | Advertising, self-promotions and capsules | Theater | Choral and orchestral arrangements | Learned style
Daniel Constantineau masters several musical languages and styles and has excellent mixing skills, which serve him well in the context of studio recording as well as when he puts on his conductor’s outfit.
In addition, his qualities as an arranger and orchestrator are celebrated on the album Chœurs en fête II, about which the producer Paul Pagé of Audiogram opines that they are worthy of « an ace! » In fact, and just like those of Station Nord, the instrumental midi tracks added or not to the live choir/piano tracks sound like real ones.
